The Gospel

1.  God Is Holy.
2 Sam. 2:2 “No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.”

  • It’s popular today to bring God to a human level and redefine Him as a tolerant, passive figure who withholds judgment as long as a person INTENTIONS are honorable.
But Biblically that is just not the case.   1 Chron. 13:5-95So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor in Egypt to as far as the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath Jearim. 6And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, to Kirjath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God the Lord, who dwells between the cherubim, where His name is proclaimed. 7So they carried the ark of God on a new cart from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart. 8Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.  9And when they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. 10Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark; and he died there before God.”
1 Pet 1:16 say, “because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”  Because He is Holy, He MUST & Will punish sin!
Yet His love & Mercy provides the only means fr salvation, forgiveness of sins & eternal life.  John 3:16“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Titus 3:5-7 “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

  • All sin is ultimately against God.
  • Every unbeliever is a sinner in rebellion against God.
  • It doesn’t matter how moral, kind or externally loving a person appears to be, the Bible teaches that ALL unbelievers are hopelessly lost in their sin.
Romans 3:10-12 “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.   They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Ecclesiasties 7:20 “For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.
There many “Evangelicals” today who talk about sin, yet at the same time they treat sin as if it’s some sort of weakness, or a tendency, or something the we do wrong to another person.
  • But it fails miserably at explaining that sin is a REBELLIOUS OFFENSE against God who is holy. Who also hates and judges all sin.
  • So you and I are not just suffering from some weakness. All humans who have never repented and trust in Jesus Christ alone are vile sinners, with deceitful and wicked hearts!
Jeremiah 17:9 ““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?.”
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.”  Romans 3:1010As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one.”   Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
  • As SAVIOR, Christ lived a sinless human life, He paid the wages of sin on the
Cross and thru His resurrection He conquered sin and death.
  • As LORD, He is ruler over everything, including every aspect of life, and every
    dynamic of Creation.
So, It is very critical that you understand that, “His RULE as Lord, CANNOT be separated from His ROLE as Savior.  The Bible says in:  Romans 10:9-10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” The word Lord implies that there’s a SLAVE and SLAVE implies a Lord (master)!
There are some wonderful Christian scholars men who love The Lord Jesus Christ who have made attempts to Separate Christ’s “RULE as Lord” from “His ROLE as Savior.”  John 15 is a passage that have been used by some to teach that a person can “Accept” Christ as Savior but at the same time not “Accept” Him as Lord.  But let’s look at that text to see if it’s valid.
John 15:1-8 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.  “Every branch IN ME that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.  “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  “I am the vine, you are the branches (branches is not analogous to fruit it is analogous to the person(s)). He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (This would mean they can lose their salvation) “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” (next page no
The phrase “In Me” is not equivalent to Paul’s use of the phrase “In Christ.”  The phrase “In Christ” is a reference to genuine believers union with Christ.  It speaks of believers being in The Body of Christ, the Church.  Colossians 1:18 “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
It’s impossible for Jesus words, “In Me” in John 15 to be equivalent to Paul’s words, “In Christ.”  Because The Church as “The Body of Christ” did not exist nor could it exist until after Christ’s crucifixion, resurrection, ascension and coming of The Holy Spirit which occurred in Acts 2 after John 15
Therefore, it is not valid to use John 15 or similar passages to separate Christ’s “RULE as LORD” from His “ROLE as Savior!”

“TRAGICALLY, some evangelicals with noble but misguided intentions has subtly changed the contents and requirements to make the gosple palatable and appealing to unbelievers.  This also known as a “man-centered” gospel message. Which may contain some biblical truth, but distorted Biblical truth is an incubator for Satan’s error and deception!

The great danger though is both messages produces a kind of repentance.  You say how is that?
Biblically Speaking There Are Two Kinds of Repentance and both leads to a type of sorrow.  One leads to, “Worldly Sorrow and one to, Godly Sorrow.  Both are seen in 2 Cor. 7:10-11 where Paul said, “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.  For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”
The 1st Kind of REPENTANCE, Worldly Sorrow is motivated by and primarily concerned with feelings of embarrassment from being caught or, thoughts of regret over the consequences of one’s actions.  This type of repentance leads only to death and does not result in forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God or eternal life.
The 2nd Kind of REPENTANCE, called “Godly Sorrow”, “is repentance without regret leading to salvation.” This genuine repentance is motivated by a solemn and urgent turning in submission to God from sin, resulting in fruit bearing repentance.”  THIS IS PRODUCED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Once the Holy Spirit has enabled the unrepentant sinner to understand his/her desperate need for salvation through Jesus Christ, he/she MUST respond in GENUINE REPENTANCE: “Turning from sin and submitting to Jesus Christ.”
1 Thess 1:9-10 “For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”
Beloved!  God saves by grace alone all who through faith alone trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, which only occurs when unrepentant sinners, non-followers of Jesus Christ, understand that they are vile sinners and their sin is against God and they turn to God repenting for their sins, believing that Jesus Christ’s suffering on the cross, His death and resurrection ALONE satisfied God’s Holy Wrath for his or her sins.
Romans 5:6-8 “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.   For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.  For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.  And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”
By reading this article you have now heard the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.  It would be an honor for me to meet with you to answer questions that you may now have as a result of having read this presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
